Early Voting Hours

2010 General Election Is November 2 – Early Voting Begins October 14

The 2010 General Election will be held on November 2, 2010, with all 40 polling places in Randolph County open for voting from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

One-Stop early voting begins Thursday, October 14 and ends Saturday, October 30 at 1 p.m. Any resident of Randolph County can vote at any one-stop site. Citizens may register to vote, change their name or address, and vote the same day at One-Stop early voting sites. Below are the One-Stop early voting locations and hours of operation:

Archdale Public Library

Curbside voting is available at all polling places on Election Day and at One-Stop early voting sites.

The voter registration deadline for this election is October 8 at 5 p.m. Citizens can register to vote or make any changes by mail or at the Board of Elections office at 158 Worth St., Asheboro. Registration forms are available at any Randolph County library or online at www.sboe.state.nc.us.

The Board of Elections is accepting absentee voting requests through October 26. The voted ballot must be received in the Randolph County Board of Elections office by 5 p.m. on the day before the election – November 1 – in order to be counted.

On the ballot there will be a vote on a proposed N.C. Constitutional Amendment providing that no person convicted of a felony may serve as Sheriff. North Carolina voters will also select a Court of Appeals Judge by Instant Runoff Voting (IRV).

Hand-Made Dulcimer

In cooperation with the Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce, the library is displaying a beautiful, hand-made, Cherry wood lap dulcimer by John Maddocks. The dulcimer is being raffled to raise funds for Chamber programs. Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber offices or at the Archdale Library for $5.00 a piece. The drawing will be held on Saturday, September 11 during the Bush Hill Festival.
